Copyright and Publishing Rights

The Journal of Social Science Perspectives (JOSSP) adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and copyright laws to promote transparency, academic integrity, and fair access to scholarly work. Authors retain certain rights while granting the journal the permissions needed to publish and disseminate their research.

 

  1. Copyright Ownership

Upon acceptance, authors grant JOSSP a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate the manuscript in both digital and print formats.

Authors retain copyright and are entitled to:

  • Deposit their work in institutional repositories or preprint servers (with appropriate citation).
  • Include the article in academic theses, books, or collected works.
  • Distribute the work for non-commercial educational or research purposes.

 

  1. Licensing & Open Access Policy

Articles published in JOSSP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) or other standard open-access licenses. This ensures:

  • Free and unrestricted access to the article.
  • Reuse, distribution, and adaptation of the work with proper author attribution.
  • Applicability for both non-commercial and commercial purposes, as long as ethical guidelines are followed.

 

  1. Author Responsibilities

By submitting to JOSSP, authors confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original and does not violate any third-party copyrights.
  • Any reused material (figures, tables, data, etc.) is properly cited and permission has been obtained when necessary.
  • All co-authors agree with the submission and content of the manuscript.

 

  1. Publisher Rights

JOSSP reserves the right to:

  • Edit, format, and publish the manuscript according to academic and editorial standards.
  • Archive the article in reputable databases and repositories.
  • Uphold ethical publication practices, including issuing retractions or corrections when needed.

 

  1. Third-Party Content & Permissions

Authors are solely responsible for acquiring written permission for any copyrighted third-party material included in their manuscript. Proper acknowledgment must be given for:

  • Previously published figures or images
  • Proprietary data
  • Any other external content

 

  1. Withdrawal & Retraction Policy

If plagiarism, ethical concerns, or significant errors are identified, JOSSP reserves the right to retract or remove the article following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

Authors requesting withdrawal after acceptance must follow the journal’s withdrawal policy. If editorial work has already been carried out, a withdrawal fee may apply.
