Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Social Science Perspectives (JSSP) upholds the principles of academic integrity and transparency throughout its publication process. To preserve the ethical standards of scholarly publishing, JSSP follows a strict withdrawal policy. Authors are strongly advised to thoroughly consider their submission decisions before initiating a withdrawal request.

1. Submission of Withdrawal Requests

A formal withdrawal request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author to the Editor-in-Chief. The request must be sent from the corresponding author’s registered email address and must include the following details:

• Full title of the article
• Names of all contributing authors
• Manuscript ID (if available)
• A clear and detailed justification for the withdrawal

1. Consideration of Withdrawal Requests

Each withdrawal request is assessed on a case-by-case basis, with careful attention to:

• The stage of the editorial or review process at the time of the request
• The validity of the reasons provided for withdrawal
• The impact on the editorial process and the broader academic community

1. Conditions for Withdrawal

• Before Acceptance: Authors may withdraw their manuscripts without penalty before official acceptance. However, habitual withdrawals without credible justification may result in restrictions on future submissions to JSSP.
• After Acceptance but Before Publication: Withdrawal requests made after formal acceptance will only be considered under exceptional circumstances (e.g., discovery of ethical issues or significant methodological errors). If approved, a formal withdrawal notice may be published.
• After Publication: Once an article is published, it cannot be withdrawn. Retraction is considered only in cases involving research misconduct, plagiarism, or serious ethical violations, and follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. A retraction notice will be issued accordingly.

1. Ethical Considerations and Consequences

• Manuscripts that have already been cited in scholarly literature cannot be withdrawn, except in cases of confirmed ethical breaches.
• Authors who withdraw manuscripts post-acceptance without valid cause may be blacklisted from submitting to JSSP for a defined period.
• Withdrawals arising from institutional or funding agency conflicts must be accompanied by documentary proof.
